Paula is the founder of Dancing Mind Yoga, a yoga studio in Alexandria, VA that aims to "take the mist away" from yoga. She started practicing yoga in 2000, but it was not until 2005 that it became part of her life. Yoga helped Paula to reconnect with her inner self; it brought peace, self-confidence and ultimately fun back into her life. It is her intention to inspire others to live a healthier, less stressed, happier life, with compassion for others in need.
A dream seeker, who loves a challenge, Paula is a native of Brazil. She moved to the USA 17 yrs ago, with no English skills, $800 in her pocket, and lots of dreams in her heart. Paula lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband Kent, and their 2 dogs, Rocky and Apollo. Paula is an avid rock climber, ice-climber, mountain biker, road-biker, snowboarder and XC-skier. These sports are a way to learn and be playful, connect with nature, meet great friends and see amazing views.
Through her teachings of yoga, she intends to inspire people to be kind and humble, go out and follow their dreams, seek and respect nature, explore, be adventurous, and find mindfulness.
